Our Grant Awarding Coordinator, Dr. Maksim Klimiankou (University Hospital Tübingen, Germany), represented our COST Action at the COST Connect event, “Advancing Collaboration in Cancer Research Across Europe”, held on 1–2 July 2026 at the COST Association premises in Brussels.

During the event, he presented our Action, exchanged experiences with representatives of other COST Actions, contributed ideas on strengthening the COST programme, and explored new opportunities for collaboration and networking across Europe.

One of the highlights was meeting Jan-Willem van de Loo, Senior Expert in Cancer Research and Innovation at the European Commission and Cancer Theme Lead for the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission. His presentation provided valuable insights into current and future European initiatives in cancer diagnostics, prevention, treatment, and research.

The event was an excellent opportunity to build connections, identify new areas for collaboration, and establish partnerships that will help advance cancer research across Europe.
