CA24124 - Network for the Advancement of Neutropenia Research and Patient Support (Neutro-NARPS)

PART B of the COST Action NEUTRO-NARPS Training School “Analytical Methodologies for Hematological Disorder Diagnostics and Prognostics” has been successfully completed!

Over two days of online learning, 28 trainees from 10 different countries explored advanced analytical methodologies for hematological disorder research, strengthening their skills in biostatistics and data-driven clinical decision-making for rare blood diseases.

We were honored to host:

🔹 Prof. Evangelos I. Kritsotakis (University of Crete), who delivered a comprehensive session on survival analysis of time-to-event data, covering key concepts such as censoring, Kaplan–Meier survival estimation, log-rank testing, hazard ratios, and the Cox proportional hazards model, providing participants with essential tools for the analysis of clinical outcomes.

🔹 Prof. Esin Avci (Giresun University), who introduced the practical application of Bayesian methods in hematology, demonstrating how Bayesian approaches can support evidence-based medical decision-making, address challenges related to small sample sizes and rare diseases, and improve the analysis of complex clinical and survival data.

🔹 During the second day, participants had the opportunity to explore how to apply the concepts and methodologies presented through practical exercises.
