CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Purpose of the Workshop:
The Training School on “basic methods to purify and investigate the discrete functions of human neutrophils” is organized by the COST Action CA18233 European Network for Innovative Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Neutropenias (EuNet-INNOCHRON).
The Training School aims at covering aspects on methods to isolate human neutrophils in high purity and measure and quantify some of their functions including Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), apoptosis and gene expression. The participating scientists will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge via interactive lectures from experts on aspects related to human neutrophils and discuss with them. They will also observe and familiarize themselves with methods to investigate neutrophil functions, discuss, and get hands-on experience on performing specific protocols.
The host of the Training School is Prof Marco A. Cassatella and his team in the Section of General Pathology, Department of Medicine in the University of Verona, Italy.To offer a high-quality training course including hands-on experience, a very limited number of participants will be accepted.

Application Process:
- The applicants must send their application to Prof Marco Cassatella email: marco.cassatella@univr.it and our COST Action Chair Prof Helen Papadaki, e-mail: coordinator@eunet-innochron.eu, before the deadline February 6th 2023.
- The application should consist of:
- A brief C.V.
- A motivation letter stating the relevance to their research and the value to participate in the Training Course.
- A letter of support from a senior Researcher/Clinician (preferably but not necessarily related to the EuNet-INNOCHRON project) from their home Institution where they are affiliated to.
- The applicants will be formally notified of the outcome of their application on February 13th at the latest.
Important Notes:
- The selected applicants will be sent a formal COST invitation to the email they have provided and instructions for reimbursement rules for the expenses regarding the whole travel.
- The selected participants will be reimbursed from the COST Action EuNet-INNOCHRON for travel costs and will get a fixed amount of daily allowance (for their accommodation, 2 meals/day and any public local transport). [please refer to COST rules]
- To attend this face-to face Training School, participants are subject to the travel regulations of the Italian National Health Authorities.
